Making Noise: Wings of Desire

Rather than releasing a traditional album campaign, Wings of Desire have taken a different approach in 2026. The London duo is unveiling one new song on every new moon of the lunar calendar, with each release accompanied by its own visual concept before the complete collection arrives as the album Stand Still Like The Hummingbird on December 9.

The latest chapter is “The Way You Feel,” a track that leans into the band’s krautrock influences with motorik rhythms, shimmering synth textures, and the melodic interplay of Chloe Little and James Taylor. While the music continues the gritty dream-pop sound established on Life Is Infinite, the accompanying film expands the project’s larger narrative through imagery rooted in folklore and seasonal ritual.

Filmed during Beltane celebrations in England’s West Country, the video features Boss Morris, an all-women progressive Morris dancing collective known to many for their appearance alongside Wet Leg during the 2023 BRIT Awards. The visuals explore themes of renewal, community, and transformation, echoing the band’s description of the song as a reminder to let go of emotions that no longer serve us.

“Give all your worries to the mystic fire. The fire that burns and purifies. Some emotions are necessary, but a lot of them do not serve us. You don’t have to feel this way.”

The ongoing project has taken on additional personal meaning for the duo, who welcomed their first child during the recording process. Those experiences have become woven into Stand Still Like The Hummingbird, including the recording of their unborn child’s heartbeat for the album’s “Interlude.”

With each release tied to a different phase of the lunar calendar, Stand Still Like The Hummingbird is becoming more than a collection of singles. It’s an unfolding body of work that connects music, visuals, and recurring themes into a single year-long narrative.

“The Way You Feel” is available now on streaming services. Stand Still Like The Hummingbird is scheduled for release on December 9, 2026.
