As a lead-up to South by Southwest, The Noise Room is talking to bands and artists performing at SXSW. Here’s what Dead Leaf Echo had to say:

What do like most about playing at SXSW?

Seeing all the bands that we miss while on tour in other places, seeing our friends bands and friends in general that live in Texas and Austin and the Midwest. The general crazy rock and roll boot camp attitude and spirit that takes everyone over.

Are you out promoting anything?

Yes a new EP titled “true.deep.sleeper” that’s being released 2.25.14 on Moon Sounds Records  There will be a ltd. edición 10″ vinyl released for it in standard black and in especial clear “ink” color. It contains 4 new songs for the band.

Are there any bands or musicians that you are looking forward to checking out?

Gary Numan, Bob Mould, Damon Alburn, All the great local Austin bands.

What are the challenges for you or your band when playing at SXSW?

Logistics…every band in the world is there and you run out of parking real quick.

Do you have any survival tips for those attending SXSW?

Lodging is key and reliable transportation. You also need patience as every year it gets more and more crowded and you have to realize that you can’t make every showcase.

Are you more “stick around, check out music and enjoy the scene” or “play as many shows as possible then get out”?

It’s a fine balance of both.  It’s a scene no matter which way you swing it. Regardless of if you’re there playing a lot of shows or just one.

What are your SXSW Show Times?
