Norwegian quintet Highasakite is Bon Iver/Pitchfork/NME approved, meaning it’s a band you should have on your playlists too. Hishasakite’s new album Silent Treatment drops in April, and just went #1 in Norway! It is the follow up to their EP In And Out of Weeks, released in the US in Spring 2013.
As a lead-up to South by Southwest, The Noise Room is talking to bands and artists performing at SXSW. Here’s what Øystein Skar from Highasakite had to say:
What do like most about playing at SXSW?
Everything! Since we are from cold cold Norway the Texas sun is perfect now. Also we are really looking forward to play our new album to all the people at SXSW.. after the concerts we will sunbath at our house, that is situated in the woods just outside the city centre!
Are there any bands or musicians that you are looking forward to checking out?
I think the best thing about SXSW is just to walk around and see what comes around. So I personally haven’t made any plans yet… but we will support the other norwegians that is there by being at their shows.
What are the challenges for you or your band when playing at SXSW?
We have a lot of equipment, so the biggest challenge is to get everything up and running with so little time!
Do you have any survival tips for those attending SXSW?
HAVE A CAR AND A HOUSE!!
Are you more “stick around, check out music and enjoy the scene” or “play as many shows as possible then get out”?
What are your SXSW Show Times?

What is the best way for people to contact and connect with you?
Is there anything you’d like to add?
Hopefully we will see a lot of audience at our concerts!!
