Arturia introduces the VOX Continental V

We love vintage sounds here at The Noise Room, and Arturia introduced the VOX Continental V, their vintage keyboard recreation of the VOX Continental 300. This classic organ was used on some of the most recognizable songs across generations of rock, pop, and soul, and VOX Continental V gives musicians instant access to those hit making sounds and more.

The VOX Continental V includes:

  • Physical Modeling of the VOX Continental 300.
  • Added models of the ultra rare Jennings J70.
  • Extended mode allows for more controls and more sound possibilities.
  • Includes classic stompbox-type modeled effects.
  • Modeled Guitar Tube Amp and Rotary Speaker outputs for vintage live sound.
  • Extensive MIDI mapping of pedals, effects and sound engine parameters.
  • Modeled amplifiers: Fender Deluxe Reverb Blackface, Fender Twin Reverb Blackface, Fender Bassman, Marshall Plexi, Leslie Speaker.
  • Modeled microphones: Shure SM57, Sennheiser MD 421, Neumann U 87.
  • Convolution reverb with custom classic spring reverbs.

Vox built its name on the guitar amps that defined the British Invasion sound, and Tom Jennings, who had built home and church organs, saw potential for a keyboard with the same energy. That instinct led to the Continental, a lighter, more portable alternative to the Hammond organs of the time. Arturia’s TAE physical modeling technology recreates the circuit behavior of the original rather than relying on samples, matching its warbling, resonant tone.

Arturia has since carried the instrument forward as VOX Continental V2, part of its current V Collection lineup, with an updated interface and expanded preset library built on the same modeling engine.

The Noise Room spent more time with the plugin shortly after in Hands On with the VOX Continental V from Arturia.
